Cadenza’s little man
The photo at left was one I took late last week after Cadenza’s newborn son had dried off and was starting to look more presentable to the outside world. We’ll be gradually weaning him off of the cria coat and the dog sweater beneath it, with the entire feed group in the warm room (we have two other females, one with a cria at side, needing a little TLC) ultimately being given the chance to go outside in the warm room’s corral and probably even a section of the Arena’s dry lot, which I wrote about yesterday. I’m sure that Cadenza, who is easily one of the most densely fleeced alpacas in our entire herd, will welcome the change to winter temperatures after huffing and puffing her way through the 50 to 60 degree temps of the warm room for the last month and a half.
