A girl we love
In the 9 years since we were first partners in the Herdsires that are collectively known as the North American Alpaca Stud, few lines have garnered less attention while in point of fact getting more done than that of Snowmass Andean Bronze. While he has never given us a male replacement we felt worthy of that role, his daughters have been very influential here with one in particular showing a real knack for producing consistent quality year in and year out.
Starting in 2007 Andean Silk birthed out not one but two colored (healthy and strong) SuperNova girls, Satin and Lace, the only live birth twins in our program’s history. She then followed that up in more pedestrian but no less impressive fashion over the next few years by giving us Silken Damask, who now stands with his dad, Cameron, in our Stud Barn, and last year our gorgeous little girl, Tanzania, who is Damask’s full sibling. With Cameron away last summer in NJ at his other home at Emelise Alpacas, we were forced to slum it and breed Andean Silk to Ring of Fire in 2010. We needn’t have worried. As the picture to the left shows, I think she might have done alright by us yet one more time.
Just wanted to report that Andean Revival delivered her Royal Ring of Fire cria yesterday (8/20). A medium brown female who looks very much like your Andean Silk girl. See you in the Ring!!!!
Congrats Carol, see you in October…
