Avenger’s first!

I was tickled the other day when a friend of ours, Sue Monat of Happy Hearts Alpaca Farm, sent me a photo of a newborn female cria. The little girl in question had just been delivered by Saline, the SuperNova daughter they had bought from us a couple of years back the last time the National Elite sale was held in VA. I’m such a dope of course that I had to text Sue back with the inevitable question of “remind me again who I bred your female with last year please?” The answer was very satisfying as well: Avenger.

Though we believe strongly in the quality of our boy, Avenger has had the rather tough task up until now of living in the shadows of both his sire (Archangel), his brother (King of the Ladies), and to a lesser extent his darker colored uncle (Golden Sovereign) and grandsire (Legacy Gold). There is good reason to believe that his days in the background may be coming to an end though. In addition to his new daughter at Happy Hearts, Bonita, we are also expecting a couple of crias here ourselves including one out of our AOBA and Futurity Champion, Orange Blossom Special. We intend to find out what this young Herdsire is really made of!
