Back to Reality

Sorry not to have posted anything for several days now, we (sans children) have been away in the mythical land of fairy tales and excess: Las Vegas, NV. The official reason for the trip was to see what the scene was like at the Priority auction being put on by several folks in this business that feel fortunate enough to call our friends. Though I am wary of putting words in anyone else’s mouth, from an outsider’s point of view, I thought the sale was generally a success…at least for those there to sell huacayas.

Now having said that, the alpaca sale was really just cover for Ian and Jen to get away for a few days together without the kids or any alpacas of our own. Jen had never been to Las Vegas before (it was only my 2nd visit) and to say the strip made an impression would be an understatement. Though I was tempted while leaving our hotel yesterday morning to hit the blackjack tables for one final go round, in the end I cashed in our final chips and the casino only managed to skin us for a collective $65 over the course of the weekend. It could have been worse. All in all we had a fun, ate at a lot of great restaurants, saw a couple of shows (“O” and Penn & Teller), and as my kids are fond of saying at the moment: chillaxed. Regular bloggy service shall resume shortly!
