Cas-Cad-Nac Farm’s Consignments at the 2010 National Elite Alpaca Auction: Lot #59 CCNF Dulcinea
We’re back again after spending the last few days in the trenches getting our animals (and all the fleece displays for the entire lineup of 70 lots) packed up and on the road. Yours truly boards a plane to OKC tomorrow. Jen and the boys follow crack of dawn on Thursday. It’s on baby.
Please don’t think for one second that just because we have a couple of sibling pairs in this sale (the lovely girl in question and Cacao are both out of Sweet Temptation, Sovereign Knight and Dark Angel are out of our beloved foundation girl, Fawn Angel) that it means we value those lines any less. In Dulcinea’s case, we felt as though it would be prudent to have Cameron, her Champion sire, represented in at least one lot and she was the only mature Cam daughter that was of a sellable age (there are a few little girls kicking around the Arena but they’re still months from even being weaned). Super dense, fine, and bred to absolutely the right guy…
This beautiful fawn female comes straight out of our show string and is the first mature, breeding age CCNF Cameron daughter that we have ever offered for sale. Though Cameron (the 2008 Black Futurity Champion) is obviously no slouch, this young lady also gets the amazing fleece genetics of her dam, Sweet Temptation and maternal grandsire, 5Peruvian Red Hot, our ultra fine brown Herdsire. The head does not lie: Dulcinea’s fleece is both dense and fine with the high frequency crimp style we have come to associate with her paternal line. It gets better though: we are offering Dulcinea bred to dark fawn Champion-maker, CCNF Royal Ring of Fire, a Herdsire with arguably the most consistent production and show winning results (6 Futurity Champion or Reserve Champion wins in 4 years) of any male in the CCNF stable. Please check at sale time for a reproductive update.
Sire: CCNF Cameron (ARI # 1313321)
Dam: CCNF Sweet Temptation (ARI # 1058666)
