Cas-Cad-Nac Farm’s Consignments at the 2010 National Elite Alpaca Auction: Lot #70 CCNF Sugar Cube

Last but so very far from least of our animals (as well as the final lot of the sale) is this member of a very prepotent maternal line from the CCNF foundation herd. Both Sugar Cube’s dam, Sugar Snow, and her older sister, Sugar Drop (a Messiah daughter on her paternal side) are locked into our breeding program for the long term. It is no coincidence that one of the 2010 crias we are most excited about at the moment is a robust little white girl who was named CCNF Droplet less than 24 hours after hitting the ground. We have bred young Ms. Cube to our illustrious, amazingly dense, and extremely fine (and highly underrated) Herdsire, Snowmass Messiah. A quick tour of this year’s CCNF birth class and the crias that our mature Messiah daughters are throwing would quickly show why Mess has been, and will continue to be, a very important cog in the gears of our light/white program. In this case, most of the genetics in question already have a track record of blending magnificently combining the genetics of Hemingway, Snowmaster, and 6P Monarch with the added little twist this time around of some Archangel fellow (he of the 18.5 AFD at age 7) and all that he represents. It’s all good.  There’s a reason Sugar Cube going last you know: it’s because she is the genuine article.

And then there was The Cube! Our beloved female Sugar Snow (our foundation herd’s only 6P Monarch daughter) has a rather wonderful habit of producing crias of simply undeniable quality. Starting with Sugar Cookie a few years ago, then Sugar Drop (now a foundation girl alongside her dam), then the young lady in question, their younger brother the aptly named (you must have seen this coming) CCNF Sugar Daddy, and most recently a gorgeous but as yet unnamed young male sired by last year’s National Elite headliner, CCNF Talon. All five siblings have super bright fleeces and the frames to match. We offer Sugar Cube bred to Snowmass Messiah, our Snowmaster/Hemingway line Herdsire who has a proven history of crossing magnificently with the Archangel line in general and Sugar Cube’s maternal line in particular!
