CCNF Acapella, Lot # 12 at the Snow Diamond Select Sale!
Sired by our world-class Futurity Champion and Judges’ Choice winner, CCNF Elixir, Acapella also has the distinction of being the full sister of CCNF Antares, our young white Herdsire who has won multiple championships in both halter and fleece (including a Judges’ Choice Huacaya at last year’s Empire fleece show), and who is poised to join their famous sire in the Stud Barn here at Cas-Cad-Nac. Anyone that’s watched our program over the past two years has seen what the first couple of batches of Elixir kids have meant for us and Acapella is another excellent representative of her paternal line. Over the last winter, as Acapella’s fleece grew a greater staple, she started to show that both she and her older brother were not flukes. Quite the opposite in fact. With amazing brightness and the soft, buttery handle (Acapella’s 2016 fiber stats: 18.7 AFD, 3.9 SD, 21.0 CV, 1.3 >30) we have quickly come to expect from our Elixirs, combined with the extreme staple length and organization we have seen so often in the SuperNova line (her maternal grand sire), she has a fleece that is simply a joy to behold. How strongly do we feel about the makeup of this female and her line? Acapella’s dam, CCNF Capella (herself the full sibling of CCNF Talon, who now plies his trade in the UK), just gave birth in July to the third, as yet unnamed — but undeniably snazzy — full sibling (a little brother), and is in the process of being bred back to Elixir yet again for version 4.0. That really speaks for itself. We will be selling Acapella with a future breeding to our 2015 White Futurity Champion & Judges’ Choice Huacaya Male, MFI’s & KVR’s Mint Mo Money, who is now expecting his first ever crias in the late spring of next year. The opportunity presented by matching up a beige Elixir daughter with Mo’s elite fleece characteristics is a special one indeed!
