More additions/updates and we’re not done yet!

Though the wind is at least blowing steadily right now, it is still 90+ degrees in the shade out there in our paddocks. It looks like we’re going to have to ride this out for at least another 48 hours or so too. I can see one group of pastured males from my window making good use of their water tubs. I tip my hat to those alpaca folks out there who live with these temperatures as any every day occurrence. It’d be interesting to know how much more H2O the animals consume on a day like today versus the more conventional 80 degree days that normally make up the majority of a Vermont summer?

I spent the last couple of hours doing some further updating to the sales section of our web site. Mainly it involved adding three new yearling (almost 2 year old) females: Chiquita a Messiah daughter from the Isabella/Augusto line who was just confirmed pregnant and due next June with a Snowmass Elite Legend cria, Love Story an Archangel/Quechua line female that is being bred to Precocious, and last but not least Star Saphire who is not only likewise bred to Elite Legend but is also selling with a female cria at side that was sired by King of the Ladies! They all offer something a little bit different though all represent a good value given the genetics behind them. I am also pleased to announce that our Champion grey female, Annabeth, has now been confirmed pregnant and is due with a Snowmass Matrix Majesty cria next June!

While that all brings the sales list up to date for the moment, obviously with 50+ more crias being born here in 2011 we are a long way from being done and more animals will be added throughout the summer and fall. If you are looking for new alpaca genetics and we don’t have something that fits the bill right now, stay tuned, as chances are we will in short order!
