Not amused

We are Yankees, we are a complaining people. It’s in our blood. Leaving aside the fact that our town had finally come in and graded the road we live on from the bottom of the hill where it begins all the way to our mailbox, this is just tedious. That was supposed to mark the official end of mud season. C’est la vie.

I traded emails with my friend Terry Miller the other day and learned that her husband, Ron, was already out on the road that week shearing for clients. Safe to say the only people celebrating this latest twist in our weather are the makers of full sized alpaca coats. You heard it hear first: it better not snow here on May 8, 2011 because there is a 0% chance of us coating 230 alpacas.

  1. I feel your pain. We got almost 3″ today. This is soooo not funny any more.

We start shearing here on Monday. I think it’s supposed to warm up a bit, but be rainy. I hope the warm up part is true!

    1. At least this was mostly just a coating which is thankfully gone as of this morning. We saw my Godparents — who live on Densmore Hill in Hartland — last night for dinner and they apparently got schmucked as badly as you northern folk!
