Now smile and say cheese!
Taking good pictures of alpacas requires some patience and a sustained sense of humor. Particularly when the alpacas in question are weaners. We (the we that was Jen and Kim while Ian sat at his desk/on the couch with the infamous ice bag) had just weaned a trailer load of 15 little buggers on Friday. So there I was today, feeling fairly spry again, deciding that it was picture-picture time for several of them that are going to be appearing on our sales list. Easier said than done. The exchange went kinda some thing like this…
“Hey guys! Who’s ready to get their picture taken?”
“Listen up two-legged dude, ’cause we’ve got some questions for you! For starters: are you our mommy?”
“Ah, well…I was fairly involved in making you but no, I’m most definitely not your mommy.”
“Well ok then, any chance you’ve got milk though? This whole new-cold-barn-with-no-mommy thing is kind of bumming us out…”
“Um, no I definitely have no milk…but do you guys want to go outside so I can shoot your new marketing shots in the nicely filtered afternoon light though? Please?!”
“No way, piss-off. No milk. No deal. We’re fine right here clustering around you like a team of 6 year olds around a soccer ball. Hope your flash works doofus.”
I guess you’ll have to judge for yourselves.
