Trailer packing today
Can you smell the excitement?! I suspect the primary thing Kim and Jen can smell right now is the 5 months of dust coming off of all of our show supplies as they are brought out of storage at the Main Barn. Thank goodness for Swiffers and air compressors.
All the show supplies – both our personal stuff (table, show display, PVC, mats, buckets, hay bags, fans, extension cords, brooms, etc…) plus those little accouterments we have babysat for the NAAS itself (signs, extra ribbons and banners, spot lights) since last April will be getting loaded up into the 24′ trailer today. We’ll also be bedding down the two rear sections of that rig to accommodate our yearling females on their penultimate time out.
All of the rookie members of the show string have been trained by now. Though there are of course still a few that could use some more practice (the walk to the ring?), we have loaded up for shows before in past years with far, far worse.
Our almost 10 year old is home sick today hanging out in his father’s man cave while I fiddle with the hardcopy versions of our sales list as well as some new shirts and sweatshirts we’re trying to have made for the farm. It’s kind of odd but for the first time in 10 years of going to (and helping to organize) the North American it all feels kind of anti-climactic right now. I’m sure that (lack of) sensation will pass though.
Hi there! I was looking at the upcoming show at the Big E and I can’t find any info about cost or if the event is even open to the public. I’m assuming it is, but?
Hi Kelli! Yes, the NAAS is indeed open to the public on both Saturday and Sunday. Here is a link to the schedule of events…http://naalpacashow.com/Schedule.shtml
